Initial Idea
To Bring This Article To Life - On my family group chat, my Auntie had sent me an article by The guardian. The article was by Carrie Hope Fletcher and she spoke about how the arts within the entertainment industry have been taken for granted and still to this day aren't taken seriously. After reading this and having a similar point of view on things, I decided to re-create this article as a documentary so that I could further explore her conecpt.
Finalised Idea
After presenting my inital idea to my peers and collecting feedback, I decided to go over my idea until I felt happy and confident with my outcome. Here you can see I have added in sticky notes to show the parts of feedback I have responded to.
Even though the idea itself is still the same, thanks to some peer review I am able to define exactly what I am doing and how I am going to go about it.

Storyboard
This is my original storyboard to help present some visuals for my final project. After recieving some peer review, I have decided to do another storyboard, as my feedback had some really good suggestions to make my documentary stand out.
New Storyboard
This is my new storyboard, also with post it notes added to show the peer review I have adapted to.
I have changed my introduction to something a little more relevent to what the project is, and added in additional shots that I had previously asked my peers about on my original storyboard. I now feel a lot more confident on what my project is and how I am going to produce this.

Ident No.1
For my first ident, I decided to use the Alpha Matte technique as this is quite eye catching and then to use an animated technique for my font. I really liked this ident and was very proud of what I was able to create however, I felt something was missing.
Ident No.2
After speaking with peers and gathering up some feedback, a lot of them agreed with me that my original ident was really quite good, although they felt it needed some colour. This is what was missing.
I decided to add an orange/red tinge within my 'AG' and change the animation on my 'Productions' to something more simple. Sometimes less is better. Not only did I do this because I and others found it better to look at, but I considered that the original animation could have triggered someone who has epilepsy. If not epilepsy then maybe another medical issue, so this is why I found these edits to be more improved than the original ident.

Tilt Text Technique
Here I used the tilt text technique over my raw footage and fixed it to this point of the pavement using keyframes. I experimented with this as this is something I thought I could use within my final project... something along the lines of wall art or thinking bubbles to support the message I am trying to put accross within my documentary.
Walking Dead
For the walking dead test footage, I experimented with animation on the walking dead font but again to keep it in place I used keyframes. Now I feel comfortable with using keyframes and applying an animation to it, this is something I am considering to use as maybe a title sequence or as a technique to introduce the name of my documentary.
SMOKIN' Alpha Matte
1. Open Up After Effects.
2. After this, choose your video or image file from your documents and drag this over to your import files section on After Effects and drag into timeline (bottom left section).
3. Now you have dragged your chosen file into After Effects and placed the file onto the timeline, you want to click on the text icon and type out what you would like to say. I used "Smokin'".
4. Next you would need to enlarge your text by changing its scale. Click onto your text layer (bottom left) and click on the arrow down button nect to transform. Here you can drag the scale number to the left to enlarge text.
5. Now you should see your word/sentence in clear bold text.
6. Once you have this screen, you now need to come back to your timeline (bottom left section) and select "Toggle Switches/Modes".
7. Once you have selected Toggle Switches/Modes, an extra edit will appear into your timeline section (bottom left). This will be attached to your image/video file where you want to change the middle section (TrkMat Column) to "Alpha Matte".
8. After this, this should make your text transparent, allowing the image/video file to beam through your text.
9. If you have selected a video file, when you play this back you will see your video play through the text. Next you want to select "Composition" (top left) and select "Add to Render Queue".
10. Once you select this, your render queue will appear where your timeline once was. Hit render (top right of the render queue) where your video/image will render and automatically save to your document files on your device.
11. If there is not a specific area chosen for your saved location, you can select where it will say "Nesting" (yours will likely state "Not Specified"). This will then open your computer files where you can select where you want to save your project. Once you have done this you will be able to select "Render" and find your project in your selected saved location on your device.
